To the Family and Friends of the Late William Samuel Tyson
Christian Greetings!
Warm Christian greetings! We are so glad the earth has no sorrow that Jesus and Heaven cannot
remove. On behalf of my family, and our Central Seventh-day Adventist Church family, I extend
our sincerest condolences to you at this time of grief. We are aware of the emotional pain of losing
a loved one who has been close to our hearts, and who has left a unique impact on our lives. Even
with the assurance of the Christian hope we must relate appropriately to our human feelings.
Brother Tyson served the Central SDA Church as its Minister of Music for all his life. His dedication
to the church and his value to the music ministry of the church is certainly unmatched and well
established in the minds of all those who are associated with the Central SDA Church. Every
service of the church felt his presence and his music ministry.
He was a true patriarch who loved his church and was well liked by all. He earned the respect of
every member of the church for his warmth and fatherly care to even the youngest member of the
church family. He was dependable and a great supporter of all the programs of the church.
I pray that God will especially comfort your family at this time. In the midst of our sorrow, we have a
confident hope in Jesus Christ who has conquered death and the grave. We look forward to a time
“when death itself shall die,” when there will be no more disappointment, sickness or death, and
when there will be perfect harmony in the universe.
We will sustain you in our prayers.

To the Tyson Family:
My family and I extend deepest and sincerest condolences to you on the passing of your beloved dad. His love, care and kindness through the years will always be remembered. What I will remember most is his humor and his unique demeanor that made everyone feel special and welcomed. I know there are no words that can comfort or ease the pain of your tremendous loss at this difficult time of grief. Just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as your sojourn this pathway of sorrow. And we encourage you to trust in God who knows all and does all things well.

Our condolences and love to the family as you go through this difficult period of loss.
Mr. William Tyson was like a father figure to me. I knew him for over 40 years when I started attending the St.Croix SDA School and the Christiansted SDA Church. He was a jovial, humble, kind and dedicated man. I especially admired his mastery of the organ. He will be greatly missed.
May each of you have the experience of claiming this promise of God. He will wipe away all tears from your eyes; and there will be no more death, sorrow, crying or pain for these former things will be passed away.

To the Tyson family my condolences, and especially to my adopted son JonJon, God got you, He will not give you more than you can bear, He is with you every step of the way, remember His rod and staff will comfort you, lean on Him, trust Him when you don't understand, He does. May God continue to bind you together to him and each other with cords that cannot be broken.

How very true are the words of the song that says "Give me my flowers while I'm living and let me enjoy them while I can; Please don't wait until I'm ready to be buried and then drop some lilies in my hand."

William Tyson received many accolades and flowers during his lifetime and he sure enjoyed them all. For those of us who were truly close to him, it was a joy to watch him glow with appreciation when he felt appreciated. Mr. Tyson was more than a friend to me and my family; he was more of a father figure for over thirty years. From my first encounter with him as my Supervisor at V.I. Housing, he impressed me as a very caring, helpful and respectful individual. I owe my early years of spiritual growth and development to him and his late wife, Ivy Tyson, (with God's help of course). Before I got married, they would call me every morning as a new babe in Christ encouraging me to study. Music was line and many times, as he sat with us, he would call out to my wife, "Sister T, you know this hymn?" And then he would just start singing the hymns of the faith. God's "Agape" love held our families together and we looked out for one another. He loved his family dearly and would do anything for them. On numerous occasions he was a part of our family outings. Wherever my family was invited, it was a given that Mr. Tyson was included in that invitation. Many times when we faced periods of discouragement, he would say "Tonge, life is a battle and a march. Do not live your life for people, but live according to God's leading and direction." "Daddy Tyson", as we usually called him, was a true soldier of t he cross and a champion for the Lord and His cause. Time and space will not allow me to say all we would like to, but our lives were fuller for having him as a close friend and confidante. We knew he was going down and we kept telling ourselves that he had lived a full life and that he cherished the blessed hope. However, the realty that he is gone still hurts. Our condolences goes out to his children, grand and great grand children and all other relatives and friends. May we live the life that God requires so that we will be able to greet Daddy Tyson on the sea that looks like glass. May He Rest in Eternal Peace.
