David Forbes Douglas, Jr., 71, passed away peacefully in Houston, TX on October 30, 2023 with family by his side.
David was born in New Orleans, LA on October 2, 1952, to David Forbes Douglas and Margie Opal Garrett Douglas. David enjoyed spending summers in Gerton, NC with his family and visiting many aunts, uncles and cousins in East Texas in the town of Point. During his teenage years he lived in Germany and Ghana, Africa with his family and spent much time traveling throughout Europe and Africa.
David was preceded in death by his father, David Forbes Douglas, his mother, Margie Opal Garrett Douglas and his brother, Gerald (Jerry) Douglas. He is survived by his brother, George Douglas and sister-in-law, Carolyn Douglas both of Houston, TX, his sister-in-law, Lucy Douglas of Ruston, LA, five nieces and nephews, two grandnieces and one grandnephew.
David will be laid to rest in the family cemetery in Point, TX alongside his mother whom he adored. The family is very grateful for all that Noah’s House did for David over the nine years prior to his passing. Donations in David’s honor can be made to Noah’s House in Houston, TX and would be greatly appreciated.
