Dieter Werner, 82, passed away on August 29, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Heidelberg, Germany on September 7, 1941.
He was a man of few words who had a strong German fortitude, a pleasantly dry sense of humor, and a quick wit. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, driving fast cars, building a large and realistic Stuka airplane model (including the engine and detailed wiring) from scratch, and “price checking” at the neighborhood social club. He is survived by sisters, Rose and Elke; and brother, Johnnie; his children, Peggy, Tammy, and Dieter Jr; 4 grandchildren, Dyana, Keelia, Jeffrey, and Nadja; 6 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Wyatt, Leif, Gunnar, Addison, and “whosit” (expected to arrive in a few weeks); 9 niblings (3 nieces, 2 nephews, 3 grandnieces, and 1 grandnephew); and many friends.
Preceded in death by beloved wife Jerry, aunt Lottie, grandmother/Oma Ava, mother Erna, brother Joe, and other family and friends dear to his heart.
Graveside Services will be at 11 AM on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Grand View Cemetery (8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505).

Dieter Werner, 82, passed away on August 29, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Heidelberg, Germany on September 7, 1941.
He was a man of few words who had a strong German fortitude, a pleasantly dry sense of humor, and a quick wit. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, driving fast cars, building a large and realistic Stuka airplane model (including the engine and detailed wiring) from scratch, and “price checking” at the neighborhood social club. He also enjoyed Gulf Coast beaches and a good slice of cheesecake or key lime pie. He was a decorated member of the Elks Club for many years in Houston.
He is survived by sisters, Rose and Elke; and brother, Johnnie; his children, Peggy, Tammy, and Dieter Jr; 4 grandchildren, Dyana, Keelia, Jeffrey, and Nadja; 6 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Wyatt, Leif, Gunnar, Addison, and “whosit” (expected to arrive in a few weeks); 9 niblings (3 nieces, 2 nephews, 3 grandnieces, and 1 grandnephew); and many friends.
