-

Kent Steven Cohen, 68, of Houston, Texas, passed away in the early morning of April 25, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on May 28, 1957, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kent was the youngest of three children. He grew up with a love for sports and was especially fond of swimming and volleyball. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Kent met his wife Cecile, in 1982. They were married in 1990 and later welcomed their daughter, Katie, in 1994. He had a successful 20-year career with Kuehne+Nagel, which allowed him to travel the world for both business and pleasure. Along the way, Kent never met a stranger and formed lasting friendships wherever he went.

Above all, Kent cherished his family. He took great joy in spending time with them and especially loved doting on his beloved granddaughter, Isla. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a trusted mentor to many.

Kent is survived by his wife, Cecile Omo; his daughter, Katie Nesburg, and her husband, Austen Nesburg; his granddaughter, Isla Nesburg; his sister, Nola Walby; his brother, Craig Cohen, and his wife, Denise Brissey-Cohen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Marcia Cohen.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and friends who supported Kent during his final months. Their kindness, compassion, and presence brought comfort and peace during a difficult time.

A celebration of Kent’s life will be held at a later date.
