Our condolences go out to the families of Lori. My husband and I became acquainted with Lori thru Kimble Cropp Gaebler in the early 1980's. I remember the fun times we had with Lori and always thought she was such a great person. Even though we left Texas in 1986 we caught back up with Lori in 2008 in Vegas. Again we shared lots of laughter. We kept up with her health struggles thru the years thru Kimble. Lori was such a strong fighter and now she has peace. Our thoughts will be with you during this sad time.

Sincerely,
Rhonda & Phil Hardy

Sincere Condolences to the family of Lori McCartney.

I met Lori many years ago as a colleague at AIG/American General. Lori was a very special person with great attitude and spirit. Everyone that knew her, loved her energy and passion for life.

In 2006, Lori and I had a closer connection as she provided continual support and help through my journey with breast cancer. She truly lifted my spirits, gave me hope and helped me get through the day to day during treatments. I have always considered Lori one of my special angels and her spirit will live on!

Thank you Lori, I will miss you dearly.

I also met Lori at American General in the 90's... doing Disaster Recovery drills. Lori made the grueling week-long drills fun!!
We realized Kimble was a mutual friend.... so, we got to share many great times together since then. Lori was beautiful-inside and out. She never complained, and always had a compliment.
Lori was loved by all... Her memory will live forever in our hearts.

I met Lori when our sons, Taylor and Jordan, were in elementary school together. She was a beautiful woman - in every way. Her son Taylor was the most important part of her life. She was the perfect mother- always putting Taylor first, taking time to be with him, teaching him, laughing with him, playing with him- even when she wasn't feeling good. She would come to football games, despite her battles physically - and always had a smile on her face. Her strength was truly amazing. My heart goes out to Taylor and her entire family. Lori, you will be missed by us all, and we thank our wonderful Lord for having the greatest privledge and honor of having you in our lives - even though it was not for long enough, the impact you have made is more precious than 1,000 lifetimes. Rest my beautiful friend.

All of us who know Lori are feeling this loss. My heart goes out to her family.

We were blessed to have Lori among us. On two of my four business visits from NJ to Houston, Lori and I went to lunch across from American General's Life Company. Discussion was always on family, the joy's of life, and some occasional work topics. We had an excellent work relationship.

Lori, rest in peace my friend.

My love and prayers to Lori’s family and all of her loved ones. May God bless you with comfort and healing.

I met Lori only two years ago and she quickly became one of the best friends I have ever had. I had just been diagnosed with breast cancer and she immediately began to help me through the process and supported me throughout my treatments and dealing with everything that comes with such a major event in one’s life…all while going through her own battle. Her spirit was catchy and her faith and courage were the greatest inspiration. Lori and I would go to lunch from time-to-time and talk about our treatments and how it impacted us and our families. She talked much about her son Taylor and what a wonderful kid he was, about her step-son Kevin, and of course, we more recently had some proud grandma moments. Lori loved her family so very much and her greatest concerns were always for them.

I will miss my chats with Lori, but will carry the memory of an amazing person of faith and courage and great love for all who crossed her path.

Sleep well gf! You are now in His arms!
Kathryn

We share with your grief and sadness for your loss. The only comfort is knowing that she is in a better place. You can't help but thank God for sharing Lori with us. Lori was truly a remarkable woman. I met Lori in 2002 at AIG IT Audit and she took me under her wing. She had a willingness to share her vast knowledge with others without an agenda. Lori had such an appreciation for life. With both her personal and work life, Lori didn't understand the concept of giving up. She had such strong determination to do her best. Yet she was reasonable, so you couldn't help but like her....even if she was handing you an audit report or marked up workpapers. I'll keep my memories of Lori with me and I'll never forget her smiling face and caring nature.

I knew Lori in high school in Pittsburgh and when we both lived in Houston after graduating from college. Lori was a fun-loving, kind, beautiful person. So much fun to be around in high school and when we both relocated to Houston. I haven't seen her for a long time since relocating to California many years ago. I am very sad to hear the news and am sending my heartfelt sympathies to her mom, son and all of her brothers and sister. Please take care.

I am deeply saddened to learn about Lori’s death yet I am ever so grateful to God that I had the opportunity to meet her. I remember how shocked I was to learn of her illness yet I also could not believe how courageous she was as she never let her illness steal her joy. Sometimes many of us walk as if we have no hope even though God has blessed us with our health and strength. Many of us claim to know God yet we do not take the time to share his word. Lori was a fighter, and even when she was in pain she never stopped smiling because she knew God. Through every trial and tribulation this brave lady still knew how to be happy. Lori took the time and she made it her mission to share God’s word.

My deepest sympathy goes to her family I know you will miss her dearly and her friends at American General will miss her as well.

Lori and I worked together for about 4 years in Internal Audit at AG/AIG. Although we were not related by blood or marriage, we shared the same last name and were sometimes dubbed the "McCartney sisters," a title I'm so proud to have shared with her! I was always so blessed by Lori's remarkable strength and positive outlook, even when going through the most trying trials of life. I know her faith in Christ as Savior and His sovereignty over all kept her focus on Him instead of herself. I'm certain she has now been welcomed into the arms of her Savior hearing, "well done, Good and Faithful Servant." I pray that her being in a place of peace and everlasting joy will be a comfort to you, her family, and to all who called her friend.

Blessings,
Crystal McCartney

I met Lori in March of 2005 at American General. This was my first IT Internal Audit job. Lori was VERY instramental in my development as an auditor. Her kindness, passion, and patience were unmatched. Lori had love for everyone. She even had love for those who did not show her love in return. I remember how she would always tell me to enjoy life and the people around me. She always talked about her son Taylor and how much she loved him, no matter what he did. I don't think she realized how many people she influenced along her journey. Lori will be missed, but she can now rest peacfully and not deal with the cruelness of this world.

Lori, you ran a good race and now you can enjoy your reward!
