In Memory of
Marilyn T. Comeaux
-

Marilyn T. Comeaux transitioned from earth to eternity on June 24th, 2024 in Stafford, TX. She was born on February 20th, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri. As a toddler, she was adopted by her two loving parents, Faye and Lewis Thompson.

She spent her formative years in Austin, TX, spending her high school career dazzling crowds as a majorette, before graduating from Anderson High School in 1970. She went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Prairie View A&M University. While at Preview she pledged CAPRs, a CoEd Affiliate of the Persian Rifles, a national military fraternity, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant in the CAPRs Drill Team. Forever a pretty girl, Marilyn also became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

With a heart for service, Marilyn pursued a career in the public sector, serving as a probation officer and eventually evolving into a legal assistant serving the Texas Attorney General’s court team. After moving to Houston, Marilyn met and married the love of her life, Louis Comeaux, Jr., soon after giving birth to sons Traylon and Christian. The family of four settled in the Brentwood neighborhood and enjoyed a life full of fun and laughter. Marilyn dedicated much of her life to her children, serving as PTA president throughout her son’s K-12 education. She also was the vice president of the little league football team, the South Main Mustangs, serving next to her husband, the team’s president.

Marilyn is survived by children Traylon (Amanda), Christian (Garrielle), and Chelsea; stepdaughter Shawntelle Washington (Shawn) and stepson Quincy Simpson; grandchildren JaQuay, Serenity, Jaleel, Axel, and Cai’Zer. She also leaves behind her sisters and brothers in law, with whom she cherished: Patsy Bienvenu (Urban, Sr.), Mary "Boogie" Ross (Roy, Sr.), Carol Jones, and Donald Comeaux.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of over 30 years, and siblings-in-law: John "Pop" Comeaux, Sarah Elizabeth "Liz" Comeaux, and Christopher "Chris" Comeaux.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024 at Blueridge United Methodist Church - 2929 Reed Rd., Houston, TX 77051. Viewing will begin at 10am, with funeral services beginning at 11am.
