In Memory of
Patrick E. Thompson Jr.
-

Patrick (Pat) E. Thompson, Jr. of Riesel, TX passed into eternal life with Jesus, on January 31, 2024.  He was born October 25, 1952 to Patrick E. Thompson Sr. and Margaret Ann (Lester) Thompson in Atlanta, TX.  He was 71 years old.

Pat’s early school years were spent in Atlanta, TX surround by a large family and “living life” with his many cousins. His high school years were spent in Deer Park, TX where he was a standout football player.  Pat saw the USA through the windshield of a truck.  He delivered oil field pipe, consumer products and trailers, and hauled cattle from coast to coast for 53 years.  When he could no longer drive, he recently said “I miss it every day.”  In early adult life, he enjoyed honkytonk dancing and Sunday family cookouts when he was not on the road. Later in life he was one of the founding leaders in Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Riesel, TX where he served as youth director, Sunday school teacher, and sometimes preached the word of God.  He enjoyed hunting and passed on that love to his grandsons.  He was a colorful character and always ready to help a friend.

Pat is survived by his wife, Charlane (Charlie), his son Trey and wife Elizabeth and their sons, Trevor & wife Hannah, Noah, and Caleb, all of the Houston area, Corbin Linton of Galveston, and granddaughter Teegan, which lives with him and Charlane. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Jane and husband Craig Scallan and a brother in law, Ricky Smith and wife Susan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Lindey, and brothers, Van and Bill.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday February 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Riesel, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to your local church or charity.
