Sidonia (Krejci) Mayer passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024, at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Moulton, Texas.
Sidonia was born on December 27, 1926, to Albert and Bessie Krejci and was the oldest of 6 children. She attended Oak Grove High School and then graduated from Sam and Will Moore High School in Moulton. She married George Mayer on March 4, 1946, and raised their 5 children, Judy, George, Cynthia, Stanley and Michael on their farm near Oak Grove. Sidonia taught her children the value of hard farm work, picking cotton, having a garden and raising chickens. The family moved to Moulton in 1969 and Sidonia began preparing taxes for H&R Block for the next 50 years, working various jobs in the off season. She also served as Justice of the Peace for several years.
Sidonia loved traveling and took several long road trips with her family. She visited The Czech Republic and relatives who lived there often and wanted to go back again. She loved playing dominos and visiting with relatives and friends. Family always came first for Sidonia, and she was always ready to help whenever she was needed. Sidonia touched many lives and will be missed by so many.
Survived by: Daughter Judy Barta (Dennis), son George Mayer Jr. (Angie), daughter Cynthia Kocian, son Michael Mayer, sister Emily Bordovsky (Paul), brother Albert Krejci (Lisa), sister Margie Kocian, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sidonia is preceded in death by her husband, George Mayer Sr., son Stanley Mayer, parents Albert and Bessie Krejci, sister Mildred Janak, brother Allen Krejci and two grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10am on August 13, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton.
