female pallbearers

The tradition of pallbearers has a long history with deep roots. Historically, men have always been the ones chosen to be a pallbearer. But why?

Sometimes people generalize women as too weak to carry the weight of the casket. Others argue that women's "funeral" shoes are not ideal to walk and carry the casket. But in today's society we are seeing more and more women take up the responsibility of being a pallbearer.

If you are in charge of choosing pallbearers for your loved one's funeral, don't hesitate to ask your female friends and family members! I'm sure they would be honored to escort your loved one to their final resting place.
