In Memory of
Dakota Faith Hawkins
-

Dakota Faith Hawkins, a bubbly 8 year of Houston, Texas, claimed her angel wings and went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2013. Dakota was born on September 17, 2004 to Maurice and Brooke Hawkins.

Dakota attended Emmott Elementary School and was in the 2nd grade. Dakota, a natural athlete, was a member of the Steeplechase Stallions Swim Team and participated in tumbling. She excelled at both. Dakota, the "Candy Princess," had an affinity for all things super sweet, fast, and fun.

Dakota Faith Hawkins was always ready with a big smile that was sure to brighten the days of all she encountered. Let behind to celebrate are her wonderful parents, Maurice and Brooke Hawkins. Two amazing siblings, Austin and Savannah Hawkins. The world's best grandparents, Gail Robusto, Bill and Lori Robusto, Eddie and Rita Rushing, and Chauncey and Sherry Hawkins. A multitude of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, Godparents and very special friends.

All who knew the electric spirit of Dakota Faith Hawkins truly believe that she flew straight into the arms of the Lord the same way she lived every moment of her life... laughing all the way.

The family would like to express our heart-felt appreciation to all who provided us expressions of love during this very sad time in our lives. Your kindness has touched our hearts and made a difficult time much more bearable. Thank you.

I will forever remember the day Savannah was baptized. We had been discussing for many Sundays before in Sunday school original sin. Shannon and I told the kids that we are all born with a stain on us that no bubble bath can take out. Only Jesus' blood can take it away. The day Savannah was baptized, Dakota came into class with a smile as big as the sun plastered across her face. "Remember the stain teacher?" She said. "My sister Savannah doesn't have it any more!" You don't have it anymore either precious Dakota. No tears, sorrows, nightmares or tummy aches. All is well with you and Jesus and we can't wait to see you again, Princess.

I will forever remember that Dakota was the first one in our kindergarten Sunday school class to really understand what salvation meant. We had been talking about original sin for a few weeks. One Sunday she came into Sunday school class with a smile as big as the sun plastered on her face. Actually she always smiled but that day her smile was enormous. Emma Morgan had been baptized that morning and Dakota said, "Teacher, remember the stain you talked about? Emma doesn't have it anymore!" Now you don't have it anymore either sweet Dakota. No tummy aches, leg cramps, nightmares, or hurt feelings. All is well with you and King Jesus together. We love you and miss you so much. And we thank God for giving you such a wonderful earthly family while you were here - the Worshams

Such a beautiful child. Our hearts are saddened from the loss of your Dakota. It has shaken our little Village of Angel Fire. My fiancé Shawn fitted your family for skis at Ski Tech and told me about the sweetest family he met that day and all the football talk. Please know we are thinking of you all and sending our prayers your way.
