Earl Lesure Jr

Earl Lesure Jr. of Toledo, OH, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on December 11, 2017 in Houston, TX. After fighting an almost yearlong health battle, Earl was released from his earthly body while surrounded by his family. He was 67 years old.

Earl graduated from Libbey High School in Toledo, OH in 1969. That same year, he was employed with General Mills, and was a faithful employee before retiring after around 40 years. He married the love of his life in 1980, and although they later divorced, she was his best friend until the end. He had four daughters who he leaves to cherish his memory. His daughters and grandchildren were the love of his life. He often called them several times a day just to make sure they were ok.

His favorite pass time was shooting pool. When he moved to Treemont Retirement Community, he found a pool table that was covered up and not being used. He was so excited when they set the pool table up for him to enjoy whenever he wanted to. He was even featured in the newspaper with a photo of him shooting pool on that table.

He is survived by his daughters, Gia D. Lesure, Nikia G. Martinez & husband Juan, Antonia L. Hammond & husband Correll, and Erika L. Lesure; ex-wife and best friend, Gayle A. Lesure; grandchildren, William Q. Liggons, Jaylen L. Liggons, G-Laya L. Liggons, Cacey Lesure, Emilia Martinez, Elena Martinez, Spring Martinez, Blue Martinez, Nailah Patin-Hammond, Caiden Hammond, and Ava Hammond; siblings, Winnie Morris, Robert Lesure & wife Paula, Isabell Lesure, and Idell Daniels & husband Melvin; aunt, Willie Daniel; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Frank, Ora Lee, and Ricky.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service with visitation from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM and the funeral at 12:30 PM.

Earl had such a magnetic personality and loved joking around. He loved to tell stories of his childhood to his own children and grandchildren, and his face would light up whenever he had the opportunity to do so. His friends and family will truly miss Earl’s smile, raspy-deep voice, sense of humor, and loving generosity. We take comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain, and is finally at rest.
