In Memory of
Esther Alwine Louise Lampp
-

Esther Louise Lampp, age 88 went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, March 3, 2011 at her home in Houston, Texas. Born April 30, 1922 of Paul and Louise Zoch-Medack in Serbin, Texas, she was the second of eight siblings. She married William Jackson Lampp, Sr. and after living in several states around the country with their children, finally settled in Houston, Texas. It was of her love of family that called her to not only the raising her five children, but to care for two generations of children over a span of 45 years in the nursery of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she worked and was a long time church member. After her retirement from Trinity she loved and appreciated the support, friendship and when her health began to fail, the home visits of Pastors, members of Trinity and dear friends. Her husband William Jackson Lampp, Sr., her two brothers Ludwig and Paul Medack, and her sister Hattie Mitschke predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter Judith Pike of Giddings, Tx., sons Jackson, James, Jerry and wife Lindsey, all of Houston, Tx., and Robert and wife Marla of Mandeville, La. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. She will be dearly missed by her sisters Elsie Powell of California, Louise and Fred Moeller of Houston, Tx., Alice Aalund of Giddings, Tx., Helen and William Wenthe of Georgetown, Tx., and Viola Sherk of Giddings, Tx.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. You heard me say, “I am going away and I am coming back to you.” If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is Greater than I. - John 14: 27-28

To the family, I am very sorry for your loss. Be assured that she is with Jesus and the Saints. I am a 1961 Trinity confirmand and graduate. I knew Jerry and Raymond best. I am also on Facebook. Is there anything I can do to help? My prayers are with you all.

To be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord!! I know she is at rest now and reunited with her loved ones that have gone before her. My sympathy and prayers go out to the family. God bless you!

There are those that called her Sister, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. BUT ME I got to call her friend. And what a friend she was. She was always on my side, no matter how wrong I might have been at the time, She never told my scerets and she even told me a few of hers. She had a sharp mind and she never forgot anything. She sent me a card for every birthday and every Christmas for the last 33yrs. She remembered all of the names of my children, grandchildren, and got to know my other good friend Jerri. She helped me through the grief of Jerri's death 1 1/2 yrs ago. She showed me how important family was and made me fell like I was part of hers. She loved her Church and her Church family, almost all of the children that went to church at Trinity Lutheran Church for 45 years knew who she was. I am sure that the reason she got to know me was because of my daughter Tamara. She taught me how important it was to have a church family. I knew I was important to her because I was on the same mailing list as Julio Iglesias and his family. Memaw,"What GREAT fun we had". If there are resale shops in Heaven I know you will tell me about all the great deals as soon as I get there, and then we will spent as much time as the Lord allows us looking for great treasures. No matter how hard I look for another treasure of a friend here on earth-now that you and Jerri are in Heaven, I know that whoever that person might be will have some really big shoes to fill. Thank-you for letting me be part of her life. Your BFF......... See You on the other side, I know you and Jerri will be there waiting for me.
