Esther Ruth (Brown) McCleary Tinker Baker, 97, born September 22, 1916 in Matagorda County, TX to Sanford Hutcheson Brown and Blanche Lavina (Armstrong) Brown, died March 12, 2014 in Corsicana, TX.
Esther is survived by her six grandchildren, David Adams III and wife Linda, Michael Adams and wife Flo, Jean Tomei and husband James, Mark Mattern and wife Lisa, Lisa May and husband Robert, and Carrie McCleary and husband Michael; eight great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Adams, Annika Adams, Lauren Watts, Nathan Tomei, Robert
Esther is preceded in death by her parents, Sanford and Blanche Lavina Brown; children, Charles McCleary and Martha Adams; eight siblings; and three husbands, Bill McCleary, Sydney Tinker, and Lonnie Baker.
Esther will be remembered by her family for her enduring love, warm smile, courageous spirit, and strong will. She was a beacon of bright light. She enjoyed being around her family, especially the children. Her hobbies included sewing and quilting, making dolls, tending to her rose bushes, and her most favored, seeing after her farm and cattle.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 on Saturday, March 15, 2014 in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service, 13501 Alief Clodine Road, Hoston, TX 77082 (281-933-9090). A graveside service will follow at 3:30 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston. The family will have a gathering immediately after the services at their home.
