Kathryn Diann Davis Krebs, 61, passed away on June 4, 2013 in Houston, Texas. She was born March 6, 1952 in Ft. Worth, Texas.
She was a lifelong educator, teaching for 37-1/2 years, after graduating from the University of Arkansas in 1974. She specialized in Early Childhood Education, teaching kindergarten for 24 years and earning a Masters Degree from the University of North Texas. She served as President of Kindergarten Teachers of Texas in 1994, leading the organization to one of the highest level of membership in its history. She touched the lives of countless children giving them a love of learning and literature. She mentored numerous young teachers, was awarded a lifetime membership in the PTA, and was Teacher of the Year at Fielder Elementary in Katy for 2008-09. She was very active in her church teaching children, singing specials and in the choir, playing the organ, leading women's ministries, and organizing events to promote fellowship. She loved The Lord and shared her faith wherever she went. She is remembered for her caring, her always present smile, and her infectious laugh. Even when going through treatments she brought comfort to her care givers and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 39 years, Greg Krebs; daughters, Alyssa Krebs Wright & husband Paul, and Sarah Krebs Brubaker & husband Jeff; mother, Jeanice Davis; brothers, Larry Davis, and Donnie Davis & wife Pam; and 3 grandchildren, Dylan Wright, London Wright, and Logan Wright.
Services will be held at Heritage Baptist Church (2223 FM 1092 in Missouri City). The visitation will be from 6 to 8 on Friday evening, June 7, and the funeral will be Saturday morning, June 8, at 11:00.
Services will also be held at the Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Salem, AR on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Burial will commence at the Lodi Cemetery in Pike County, AR.
