In Memory of
Linda Lou Ashley Childs
-

Beloved mother and grandmother, Linda Lou Ashley Childs, born on September 11, 1941 in Teague, Texas, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 28, 2013 after a long battle with many illnesses.

Linda was married to her high school sweetheart, Harold Dean, for 45 years. Together they loved and raised two children, Dena and Craig.

She is also survived by her sister, Sonya Yoder; son-in-law, Steve Craig; and 6 grandchildren: Ryan Craig, Carson Craig, Kelly Ann Craig, Ashley Childs, Alex Childs, and Case Childs.

Linda Lou graduated from Teague High School, married Harold Dean in 1960 and moved to the big city. They made Houston their home for the next 45 years. She worked side by side with Harold for nearly 30 years assisting him with his accounting practice. The most important thing to Linda was family and friends. Her family was her hobby. She was a mother and grandmother who was deeply involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Linda also had a close circle of friends who surrounded her with love and who were always close by for a game of bridge and much laughter. She was a compassionate, kind, caring person who always put others before herself. She will be deeply missed every day until we see her again in heaven.

A Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, April 2nd at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church (12955 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079). A Memorial Service with reception following will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 3rd at the church.

Linda...from being high school friends, to marrying brothers, to raising our families in Houston, to many nights of Bridge, trips together, and our birthday lunches every year at La Griglia's......Many memories I will always cherish. What a special friend and sister-in-law Linda was to me.
