In Memory of
Nicole Jacqueline Helms
-

Nicole was born in the Baptist Hospital in Beaumont and has lived in various places including Orange, Valdosta, Georgia and Houston for the greater part of her life. She was graduated from Memorial Senior and studied at the University of Houston for a few years. She married Joseph Menslage in 1993 and they had four children: Gabriel, Hannah, Jeremiah and Naomi. Many adjectives could be used to describe Nicole: striking, beautiful, elegant, intelligent, kind, sensitive, loving, generous, considerate, thoughtful, patient, poised, unselfish, influential, honest and hopeful. Simply amazing somewhat sums it up. Of course, she was “the best mom ever.” She was and will always be loved by many, many people. Her spirit lives.

Survivors include her four children Gabriel Menslage (12), Hannah Menslage (10), Jeremiah Menslage (8) and Naomi Menslage (7), the childrens’ father (Joseph Menslage), parents (Don and Jacqueline Helms), her sister (Sabrina and her husband Steve Katz) from Florida, her baby sister (Danielle and her husband Robert Graham) from Mississippi, three nephews (James and Joshua Katz and Nicholas Graham), two nieces (Jillian Katz and Sophia Graham).

A benevolence education fund in memory of Nicole has been established to benefit her children. Contributions can be made to a “Benevolent Account” to be used as Educational Funds established by Don W. and Jacqueline K. Helms.

I worked with Nicole at National Oilwell Varco in Sugar Land. It was shocked and saddened to hear of her death. My heart breaks for her children and her family. Nicole was always very friendly and was a pleasure to know. God be with all who read this.

I was married to Nicole on jan. 23, 1993. The best days of my life were spent with Nicole, and now my saddest memories of life are of her. I miss her so very much. She was by far my best half.

I know that she is with the Lord now and will never again experience pain any longer. I long for the day where I can see her once again.

Gabriel, Hannah, Naomi & Jeremiah, What strong Bible names your Mom gave you. She would want you to trust your future to Him, build your strength through the study of God's word and stand in His power.
Zephaniah 3:17 says, "The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
Always remember you are God's delight and He loves you. In good times or bad, listen with your heart for the special song He sings - just for you - as He rejoices over you.

Gabriel,

I remember meeting your Mom when she came up to my classroom to see where her son was learning everyday. I remember how supportive and how caring she was of you and your education. She also mentioned how she thought the world of you and your siblings.

I lost my mother back in 2000 and still think about her everyday just like you will for the rest of your life. I will say a prayer for you and your family and just let God be with you to get you through this and life. God Bless You!

Dear Nicole,
I haven't talked to you in a while. You were married to my brother. When hurricane Lilly was coming in you called me on the phone, you said Have no Fear, the hurricane was a cat 4 then a cat 2 in 12 hours, Nicole we had you and your loved ones in our house for thanksgiving. You have always been a rock in my life. I lost touch with you for quite a few years, When I found out not by my brother or sister I learned the hard way when you meet someone that special who will go the extra mile for a lifetime, We will miss you Nicole Becky James Ava Gisele Menslage
