James L. (Jimmy) Mouton Jr., 65, of Houston went to his heavenly home on July 21, 2023. He was born on January 13, 1958, in Houston, TX to parents, James Lister Mouton Sr. and Robbie Powledge Mouton.
Though his life was cut short, Jimmy loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing. He loved being a faithful believer in Jesus Christ. He was a long-time member of the freemasons. He was highly involved in helping new masons become better men. Jimmy became a Master Mason in 1999 at Cade-Rothwell Masonic Lodge; the same Lodge his father belonged to. Jimmy served as Worshipful Master 2003-2004. He was appointed District Deputy Grand Master for the Grand Lodge of Texas in 2008. In 2017-2018 he served as Worshipful Master of Aldine Masonic Lodge. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and recipient of the highest award The Grand Lodge of Texas can bestow to an individual Mason- The Golden Trowel Award.
Jimmy had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure and honor of knowing him.
Jimmy is survived by his mother Robbie Mouton, sister Kathy Mouton, Aunt Janice Cochran, Uncle Joe Powledge and cousins Barbara Stevens, Melissa Hunt, Tim Cochran and Troy Cochran. He is preceded in death by his father, James Mouton Sr.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Stephen Orlando, The Hardin Family and other friends during this difficult time.
