Margaret Rose McLelland died peacefully in her sleep on July 6, 2014.
A native Houstonian, she lived in Houston all her life and was devoted to teaching and counseling young people. She graduated from Rice University with a degree in English and later earned her doctorate in Education. She taught science at all levels for many years and was a professor of education at St. Thomas University. She was a talented speaker and had a sharp sense of humor. She gave book reviews for many years for various groups in Houston, including the College Women's Club, and the Retired Teachers Association. She loved the Lord and was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Sammye Munson & husband Leslie; nephews, David Munson, Mark Munson, Paul Munson, and Larry Diener; great-nephews, Chris Munson, Matt Munson, Benjamin Munson, and Aaron Diener; and a great-niece, Whitney Diener.
She is preceded in death by her other sister, Elizabeth Diener.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:30 AM on Friday, July 11, 2014 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church (3471 Westheimer Rd. Houston, TX 77027), with burial to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
