Mary Theresa Danneker Gabel of Bellaire, Texas went to be with her Lord on December 20, 2009, where she joined her beloved husband, George Clifford Gabel. She was born on September 3, 1924 in Osceola, PA and moved with George to Texas in 1950. She was a very devoted Christian mother and friend and loved God with all of her mind, soul and strength. She leaves behind her children, Kathleen Theresa Gabel of Houston, George (Ted) Clifford Gabel, Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Kingwood, Dr. Gerard Thomas Gabel and his wife, Tracey, of Bellaire, John Michael Gabel and his wife, DeAnne, of Spring Branch, Agnes Mary Wimberly and her husband,
Butch, of Cypress and Judith Ann Hubbell and her husband, John, of Pearland. She was a loving and caring example for all of her children, as well as her twenty-one grandchildren and six great grandchildren. For many years, she was an active participant in the Catholic Daughters of America, as well as the Boy and Girl Scouts, and gave much of her life in service to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and school. She touched many lives with her love of Jesus. She gave selflessly to her family, friends and her faith. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on forever. The viewing will take place on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church located at 6723 Reed Road in Houston, Texas. The rosary will begin at 7:00 PM. Her funeral will take place on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She will be buried on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at 9:00 AM at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veteran's Memorial Drive in Houston, Texas.
