Mary Theresa Danneker Gabel of Bellaire, Texas went to be with her Lord on December 20, 2009, where she joined her beloved husband, George Clifford Gabel. She was born on September 3, 1924 in Osceola, PA and moved with George to Texas in 1950. She was a very devoted Christian mother and friend and loved God with all of her mind, soul and strength. She leaves behind her children, Kathleen Theresa Gabel of Houston, George (Ted) Clifford Gabel, Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Kingwood, Dr. Gerard Thomas Gabel and his wife, Tracey, of Bellaire, John Michael Gabel and his wife, DeAnne, of Spring Branch, Agnes Mary Wimberly and her husband, Butch, of Cypress and Judith Ann Hubbell and her husband, John, of Pearland. She was a loving and caring example for all of her children, as well as her twenty-one grandchildren and six great grandchildren. For many years, she was an active participant in the Catholic Daughters of America, as well as the Boy and Girl Scouts, and gave much of her life in service to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and school. She touched many lives with her love of Jesus. She gave selflessly to her family, friends and her faith. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on forever. The viewing will take place on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church located at 6723 Reed Road in Houston, Texas. The rosary will begin at 7:00 PM. Mrs. Gabel was a beautiful lady who I enjoyed knowing for several years. The last time I saw her she paused on her way out of the room with John, and offered me her cheek to kiss. It touched me deeply. She was a gracious and kind woman and her children are a testament of what a faithful and loving mother can instill. I was blessed to know her and look forward to the day when we will see her again...and that without heartache, pain or frailty. We do not sorrow as other men who have no hope. We are praying for the family. Jeannie Toutloff and daughter, Elissa

With consternation we registered the unexpected death of Mary.
Mary was a kind woman, mother and grandmother.
We know her as a warm tenderly human and a very good friend to our family in Bavaria, Germany.
All time we met her it felt very good and she was part of our family, too.
We grieve with the whole family Gabel about her loved capital of their nice family.
We think that Mary Gabel is at our lord already because she was filled with a big truth on our god.
We pray with the family Gabel and for the family Gabel to reduce their pain.
The wholy god is all with us and we all will live forever in heaven.

I am so grateful for having had her in our lives. She was more than a loving Aunt, she was and is an inspiration!
Although we'll miss her here, Mary will be Home for Christmas.
Hugs to all the Gabels
