Michelle Leigh Maderer was born in Corpus Christi on April 23, 1954. She married her high school sweetheart, Norman Leslie Maderer, on June 2, 1973 in Houston, TX before moving to Cypress, Texas to raise two beautiful and active children. She passed away in her Bellville home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, after almost a year of battling pancreatic cancer. Her strength in mind, body and faith during those difficult months will be remembered forever. In the end, all she wanted was to be in the arms of Jesus and for her family and friends to be at peace.
Michelle's faith inspired many others in her church and surrounding community. She was active in Bible studies, loved serving at her church, hosted many RAP events and continuously showed her support for organizations like Bellville Young Life, Dup15q Alliance, Twelve Baseball, MDO, Kardia Christian Academy, Bellville Athletics and The Arbor School.
Michelle was an incredible friend, daughter, sister, wife, mother, and Nana. She loved life and making people laugh. Her witty personality could always lighten a mood and put a smile on your face. During the earlier years of marriage, Michelle enjoyed boating with her husband and exploring Clear Lake and Galveston Island. As a wife and mother, she loved cooking for her family and watching her kids do all sorts of activities when they were growing up.
Michelle's role as Nana may have kept her the busiest, especially with all the shows, theatre productions, sporting events, programs, car rides, games, activities, school events, Bible lessons, prayers, songs, stories and waffles. So. Many. Waffles.
She is forever loved and will be forever missed.
Michelle is survived by her mother, Jody (JoEllen) Rechner, brothers, Jon Christopher Hoag and Mark Hoag, sisters, Teri Hoag Reeves, Andrea Coody and Jennifer Wiles, her husband of 50 years, Leslie Maderer, her daughter, Stephanie Reynolds and son-in-law, Rick Reynolds, her son, Jason Maderer and daughter-in-law, Carly Maderer and her 6 grandchildren: Kolby, Peyton, Tatum, Piper, Kennedy and Jase.
She has been reunited in Heaven with her father, Harry Judson Hoag; brother, Joe Hoag; grandmothers, Glendora Bell and Betty Hoag; grandfather, Forrest Bell, and stepfather Jim Rechner.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, 10:30a.m., Bellville Methodist Church. (234 S. Masonic Street)
