Robert (Bob) J. Jellison was born March 04, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John and Rosamond Jellison. He was raised in Brentwood, PA where he graduated from high school in 1950. He attended Duquesne University and graduated in 1954 with a Bachelors of Science-Accounting, the first in his family to attend college. In August 1954 while working at American Cyanamid Company, he met Ethel Dolores Wallace. Their relationship continued to flourish while he proudly served in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Captain. Bob and Dolores were married on February 15, 1958. While working for Pennzoil, Bob and family transferred to Houston, Texas in 1965.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, playing tennis, cheering enthusiastically for the Pittsburgh Steelers, watching sports, especially when his grandchildren were participating, and walking his since deceased Basset Hounds: Duke and Blossom. Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dolores, their 3 children: Michael (Donna), Shirley (Lee Vaughn), and Robert (Sabrina); and 9 grandchildren: Lindsey, Taylor and Hayley Jellison; Jessica, James and Christopher Vaughn; and Josette, Damian and Spencer Jellison.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Father Wayne Wilkerson, Pastor. Burial at Memorial Oaks Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests that memorial donations be directed to a charity of your choice or local animal shelter.
