Don Wayne Helms

Don Wayne Helms, 75, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in his Houston home. Don Helms was born August 19, 1938 in Camp County, Tx. to Felix McCoy Helms and Rosabelle Helms.

He was raised in Huntsville, Tx, graduated from Sam Houston University, served in the Army and the National Guard. He married Jacqueline Kavanaugh. They had three daughters (Sabrina, Nicole & Danielle). He was an Accountant in Houston until he retired in 2011. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Houston, Tx.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jacqueline Helms, two of his daughters Sabrina Helms and Danielle Graham, his son-in-law Robert Graham and Joe Menslage who was Nicole’s husband. He was most proud of his nine grandchildren: James (22), Jillian (17), Joshua (15), Gabriel (18), Hannah (16), Jeremiah (14), Naomi (13), Nicholas (12) and Sophia (10).

He was preceded in death by his daughter Nicole Helms, his mother Rosabelle and father Felix Helms.
