With love and remembrance, we honor the life of Mateo M. Abella Jr., who was born on June 8, 1947, in Palay, Batan, Aklan, Philippines, and peacefully joined our Creator on June 14, 2026. He lived a life devoted to family, love, and the people who mattered most to him.
Mateo was a loving husband to Nelida O. Cortes, with whom he shared 51 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, devotion, and family. Together they created countless cherished memories and a legacy that will continue through generations.
He leaves behind his beloved children: Minette and husband Djoung; Mavis; Marvin and wife K-vi; Michelle and husband Edward; Meyland and wife Wena; and Mayeth and husband Ryan. He was also a cherished grandfather to Angel, Tristan, Archie, Elly, Kelvin, Mela, Frankie, Brandon, Adrien, Landon, Athena, Kate, Rainne, Mary, and Chesca.
He loved his family deeply and found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings Espinela, Susan and Romeo. As well as in laws, nephews, nieces and countless friends.
Mateo was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mateo Abella Sr. and Visitacion Abella, and his siblings Francisco, Napoleon, Lucinda, Florencio, and Fernando.
Though his physical presence may no longer be with us, his love, wisdom, and legacy will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
