Raymond Claret Tauro (Clary) of Houston, Texas passed away at the age of 65 after a courageous fight of 42 months (3.5 years) against brain cancer on January 7th, 2026 at his residence. He was born on October 23, 1960 in Mangalore, India to Late Mr. Baptist Tauro and Late Mrs. Magdelene Tauro.
Raymond has been a bright student since the beginning. He got his Bachelor of Science degree from the Mysore University (1982) in India with exemplary grades in his favorite subjects, Physics, Math and Chemistry. He became interested in computers and completed his first Apple Certified Training in 1989. He was proud to have witnessed the evolution of 4th Generation Computers. He completed his IBM Certified training as an AS400 RPG IV programmer in 1998. Raymond’s dedication to work and computers landed him a job in the USA back in 1998 when tech companies globally were getting ready to resolve the (millennium) Y2K bug issue. Even after securing his programming position and working steadily for years, he still valued continuing his education and sharpening his skills. While working his day job, he enrolled in online classes and got his M.A in Management and Leadership at Liberty University in 2012. His last learning goal was PYTHON just so that he could participate in the (then) up and coming AI boom. Though he loved watching Cricket or steam engine locomotive videos, his favorite “hobby” was always learning about new advances in computer languages. He achieved what most people strive for in life and turned his hobby, his passion, into his career.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mabel Tauro; his daughter, Janice Tauro & her husband, Minhquan “Zach” Nguyen, siblings, Rosaline D’souza, Denis Tauro, Violet Machado, Thomas Tauro, and Rajesh Tauro and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 6646 Addicks Satsuma Road, Houston, TX 77084. Visitation is at 10.30 AM followed by mass at 11 AM. Burial is on the same day at 1 PM at Katy Magnolia Cemetery, 6801 Franz Road, Katy TX 77493. A light reception will follow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (6646 Addicks Satsuma Road, Houston, TX 77084).
