Ada Frances Beason Lott Mills, of Missouri City, Texas, peacefully took her last breath at 11:24 p.m. on September 15, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born on March 8, 1934, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana, to John Beason and Fannie Anderson and was delivered into this life by her grandmother, Mrs. Emma Cook.
Ada was a devoted, born-again Christian, baptized in the Holy Spirit, and lived a life filled with love, joy, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her children were her lifeline, and she cherished each of them with all her heart. She was the second of four siblings and the last to leave this earth, always beloved by her nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her "Aunt Day." Thanksgiving and Christmas were special times for the family, where they would gather at Grannie's to cook, sing gospel songs, and share in the harmony that bound them together.
Ada is survived by her three daughters: Linda Kay Garrison of Missouri City, TX; Jackie Sue Poole and her husband Jimmie Poole of Damon, TX; and Sherri Deann Ulsh and her husband Michael Ulsh of Kailua, HI. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Angela, Melissa, Amanda, Shelbi, Shawn, and John; eight great-grandchildren: James, Kyle, Caitlin, Shane, Mason, Malorie, Anya, Maverick, Gracie, Kelsie, and Raynie; and two great-great-grandchildren: Ian and Jocelynn. In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Evelyn McCowen, Melba Powell, and William Beason; her children, Dennis Ray Lott and Sheila Elaine Fowler; and her grandchildren, Cynthia, Shannon, and Benji.
The family has decided on a private memorial and graveside service. They would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers who looked after Ada in her final months, as well as to all the family and friends who have been so supportive and helpful during this time.
