Allan Ratcliff

W.A. “Al” Ratcliff, 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 21, 2008, in Tomball, Texas. He was preceded in death by Barbara, his loving wife of 32 years. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Constance in 1972. He is survived by sons Michael Ratcliff and wife Renee, Clarke Robertson and wife Lynn; daughters Mary Ann Hayes and husband Vernon, Joanne Dixon and husband Neal, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Originally from San Antonio, Al served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from the University of Texas and worked in the oil industry for 34 years, including 20 years with Conoco in Corpus Christi. He enjoyed playing baseball as a young man, and taking long vacation drives.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008 in the chapel of the Houston National Cemetery at 11:30 am. Following the service a reception in Tomball will be held for family and friends at the First Presbyterian Church of Tomball (Located on Highway 249 across from Tomball College; the address is 30410 State Highway 249) from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.

I remember...
family gatherings when Uncle Allan would joke and laugh. I remember how Dad laughed when he and Allan got together. I remember Allan occasionally tossing out a remark or question that had me going off to think a bit. That was a good thing. God God bless you and yours Uncle Allan.
