Dorothy "Dottie" Margaret Jenkins Williams, known to all as "Meme", 103, passed away on March 5, 2024 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born in Mullin, Texas on May 29, 1920 to Sam Jenkins and Elenor Catherine NeSmith Jenkins.
Dottie (Meme) was a remarkable woman who found joy in the simple things in life. She was known for her great love for her family, her exceptional cooking of large, delicious meals with home grown vegetables, her mouthwatering homemade yeast rolls and desserts with freshly hulled pecans.
Her passion for handiwork hobbies like knitting and cross-stitching was evident to all who knew her, as she always had a project (or 3) in progress to share.
She is survived by her son, Edward E Williams & wife Charlene Williams; daughter, Janie Williams Robinson; grandchildren: Sherri W. Mecke, Chad E. Williams, Amanda W. Vickers, Todd A. Williams, Jonathan A. Phy; great grandchildren: Sarah Mecke, Hannah Mecke, Zachary Vickers, Elijah Vickers, Abigail Vickers, Logan Williams and Tessa Williams.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband, W. E. (Wiley) Williams, Jr; son, Kenneth G. Williams; son-in-law, John J. Robinson, Jr.; and siblings, Ivy Jenkins, Roland Jenkins, Mac K. Jenkins, and Beryl Gipson.
Meme will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
May she rest in peace.
