In Memory of
Dorthene McDuff Randall
-

Dorthene “Dot” McDuff Randall, 96, passed away on July 21, 2025, in Pearland, Texas. She was born on July 19, 1929, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Pete and Lillian (Ray) McDuff.

After graduating high school, Dorthene continued to live and work in Fort Worth. As the result of a fender-bender, she met Richard (Dick) Randall, whom she would later marry on June 16th, 1961. They remained married 65 years until his passing. Their only child, Dianne Randall, was born on March 1, 1962.

After a brief stint in St. Louis, Missouri, the family moved to Houston, Texas, so Dick could work at NASA with Lockheed Martin, and later, Northrop Grumman. Dick, Dot, and Dianne made a good life in Southeast Houston, with Dick and Dot staying in the home they bought in 1968 until 2024. As the city and many things changed around them, Dick and Dot were a steady presence in the neighborhood and in the lives of their family.

She is survived by her two grandsons, Brent Connealy and Kyle Connealy.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Randall, and her daughter, Dianne Connealy.

Dorthene, or “Nana”, as she was known to her grandsons, was a kind, loving, intelligent woman who loved her daily Coca-Cola, genealogy, and her family. She faithfully reminded us, “The LORD is in Control.” God blessed us through her 96 years of life, and she will be dearly missed.
