In Memory of
George Okabayashi
-

George Okabayashi, 89, passed away at his home on May 30,2020. He was born in Beaumont, Tx. on February 22,1931 to Minuro and Yoshimi Okabayashi. George grew up in Houston, Tx and was a graduate of Aldine High School 1948.

George was a brother of 9 siblings, he was the only one with an American name due to being born on George Washington's birthday. In his younger days he was active in keeping the family farm active with his brothers and sisters: Hiroshi - Shidu - Tsuyu - Tsutomu - Midori - Kaoyu - Kiyoshi - Kazuko

In his younger years George had a great love for cars and began racing and winning trophies. His love for cars continued into a dedicated career as a mechanic. Helping so many people, friends, and family keeping their cars running and on the road, many times not wanting nor asking for a dime for his hard work. In his later years, George loved sharing his work and his time with his brother Tommy in the car shop and finally retiring at age 80.

George was a devoted family man, marrying Janice Bell and became a father of 4, Brehn, Kyle, Desiree, and Angie. He was always there for them at a drop of a hat. A loving, kind, and caring father.

He was a devoted Grandpa and especially loved his grandchildren: Coree, Kaci, Jonathan, Stefen, and Aaron. When they walked into the room George lit up, face glowing and arms opened giving the best loving hugs and a chuckle of laughter. Always expressing his happiness to seeing them. Needless to say, when Great Grand Children came his way his heart grew even bigger with: Ethan, Luxleigh, Evin, Vivyen, Stefen, and Clare.

George was dedicated and passionate to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He loved his church family, studying the Lord's word and devout in prayer. He always spoke of his favorite thing, to give the Children's bible lesson stories during church service. He loved singing gospel songs and fellowship with his church family.

George will be incredibly missed by so many people that he has touched with his love and goodness...A man with a real heart of GOLD.

Services will be held on June 3, 2020, at 11:00 am, Conroe Seventh Day Adventist Church, Conroe Texas  77301

George was a great man who cared so much about people. George helped me and a lot of my friends at the church where we attended with helping us with keeping our cars running... we were just young teenagers and never had much money, but he always was there for us helping us out, letting us pay over time. Just never forgot about his kindness and generosity. Truly a great man and will be missed by many. Rest In Peace George
