Helen Ruth Jordan

Helen Ruth Jordan went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 16, 2020.  She was 89 years old.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 71 years, Robert, and their daughter, Laura.  Helen will also be forever remembered by her granddaughters, Jennifer (William) Watson and Jaime (Gary) Colby, her great-granddaughters, Anna, Rachel, Allie, Abigail, and Rebecca, and her sister, Elnora (James) Birdwell.  Helen was predeceased by her brothers, Harold, Ralph, and Jimmy.

Helen was born in Jean, Texas on April 21, 1930.  She and Robert were married on September 4, 1948.  They spent most of their married life in Southern California.  During her working career, Helen was one of the first female banking officers at Bank of America.  

Helen and Robert enjoyed many trips together, including several cruises to the Caribbean, Europe, and Alaska, as well as a road trip through the United States.  

Helen loved reading, flowers, birds, jewelry, and collecting beautiful things.  
  
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079.  Friends and family are welcome to gather after the service at Cracker Barrel, 18151 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, Robert has requested that donations be made for her grave marker.  Donations can be mailed to the family.

Helen Jordan was a classy lady always caring about others. She was sweet, smart and truly loved the lord! She will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.
