Henry William McMath passed away surrounded by family on July 17, 2021 following a fight with colorectal cancer.
He was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Judy Eileen McMath. They were one. Spirits that will never separate. He leaves behind his 5 children and their families. Daughter and son in law Judy Lee and Rick Frankson and their 3 children, Meghan, Christopher, and Catherine. Son and daughter in law, Joey and Bridget McMath, and their 5 children, Justin, Kristin, Jake, Jessica, and Karlie. Daughter and son in law, Jeannie and Jeff Taylor and their children Blake and Pocket. Son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and April McMath, and their children Kathleen and Patrick. Daughter Jennifer McMath and her children Kealey and Chandler. He was also a proud great grandfather to Logan, Blakely, and Kingston. Along with his extended family, he also leaves behind his longest and dearest best friend Barry Schneider.
Hank entered into this life on July 27, 1943, the only child of Angeline and
William McMath. He was taught a strong work ethic, honor, kindness, and respect in his home and extended those teachings to his children. He spent his youth in Penndel, PA. He attended Bishop Egan Catholic High School and graduated in 1961. He joined the Navy after high school and proudly served his country while aboard the USS Eaton during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He Married Judy Eileen Lee on Sept. 4, 1965, and shared a love that is too hard to describe in words for 48 years until her passing in 2014. Together they had 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. They moved and settled in Houston, Texas August 1974.
Henry worked for 50 years until his retirement at the age of 70. He owned his own business and worked as an auto mechanic. He later helped manage repair shops and taught many along the way. He was that guy who could fix anything. He was the employee that employers loved to have. He arrived early, worked hard, and stayed late, but was always ready to head out for a camping or beach trip with his family when the weekend arrived. He had tough times and great times but was always the same solid person. He loved spending time with his family and was always available to enjoy a beer with a friend. He was the guy everyone knew and loved.
The McMath Family would like to thank all those who have reached out during this time of sorrow with kind words and deeds. It was heartwarming to hear the stories of love from those who knew him. Words cannot express how very much he was loved and will be missed.
The family would like to invite those who are able to fellowship in his honor for an open house on Friday, July 30, 2021, at 6347 Asbury Brook Ct.; Katy, TX 77493. Come as you please from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
