Brenda Louise Dorman, 69, of Houston, Texas, passed away on June 27, 2026.
Born on October 1, 1956, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Brenda was the beloved daughter of Thomas and Edna Cannon.
Brenda will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, and unwavering selflessness. She was deeply devoted to her family and found her greatest joy in caring for others. On December 7, 1984, she married the love of her life, Jeffrey Dorman—a date Jeff chose so he would always remember it, as it coincides with Pearl Harbor Day.
Brenda moved to Texas in 1980. After marrying Jeff on December 7, 1984, Brenda and Jeff started their journey as a blended family. Brenda dedicated many years to working as a childcare provider in her home, nurturing and shaping the lives of countless children. She later worked for Guardian Insurance for ten years before
She had a love for reading—especially novels by Danielle Steel—and cherished time spent with her family. After Jeff’s retirement, they enjoyed traveling together, including a memorable trip west where Brenda fulfilled her dream of seeing mountains and snow for the first time.
She was also devoted to her beloved dog, Prince, who brought her great comfort and companionship.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey Dorman; brother-in-law, Gary, sister-in-law Donna (Mark), daughter Shannon (Jason) McKenna; sons Steven (Susan) Rawls and Robert (Tammy) Rawls; grandchildren Jaxon Denisiewicz, Alixandra Rawls, Hannah Rawls, Nathan Rawls, and Guinevere Rawls; niece Crystal Dorman Broom; and numerous other nieces and nephews who were always blessed by her love and affection. She also welcomed a special bond later in life with stepdaughter, Stephanie (Rawls) DeMaya, with whom she was grateful to connect. Brenda was “Momma Brenda” to Stephanie.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Edna Cannon, sister, Dodie, her in-laws Donald and Etta Dorman, and brother-in-law, Gregory Dorman.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11th 12:00 pm at Beresford Funeral Service, located at 13501 Alief Clodine Road, Houston, Texas 77082.

establishing her own business, Save Serve Process, where she worked as a process server from 2015 to 2021. Her strong work ethic and dedication reflected her commitment to helping others in every aspect of her life.
