In Memory of
Islah Fattaah Muhammad "Nana Goose"
-

The Sun rose on Minister Islah Fattaah Muhammad-Walker on June 7, 1951, from the union of Clara Mae and Aaron Holiday Sr. in Baltimore, Maryland. She grew up in New Orleans, LA where she attended nursing school before she relocated to Houston, TX. She also studied nursing and early childhood development at Texas Southern University in Houston, TX.

On September 7, 1992, she married her late husband Bro. Arthur Walk-er and the two continued their love of Christ by becoming members of New Light Christian Center Church in 1994, where she became a minister in the late 1990s.

Together, they owned and operated several businesses, including Blessings Youth Ministry, a Daycare, and Nanna Goose’s Heavenly Treats. She also held assignments in the Personal Ministry, and was a ordinance, altar, and nursery worker at their church.

Her hobbies included spending time with family, dancing, and helping take care of children.  She had a passion for writing poems, songs, short stories, and prayers.

The sunset on Islah on September 19, 2022, where she was reunited in Christ with her loving husband Arthur Walker, her brother Aaron Holi-day Jr., her daughter Tyra Muhammad, her grand-daughter Alexis John-son, and her parents Clara Mae and Aaron Holiday Sr.

She is survived by her children Lacinta James (Bruce), Khadijah Muhammad, Muhjah Muhammad (Andre), Isstad Rashadeem, Arthur Williams (Shalika), Anthony Walker, and Lois Smith (Xavier), her niece Kesha Clinkscale (Randy), her nephew Aaron Holiday III (Natasha), her grandchildren Terri, Tyrone, Byron, Arian, Jacinta, Tiah, Ummah, Greg, Mahina, Isstad II, Jasmine, and Andre Jr., 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.

Islah will be cherished by many and until we meet her again, she wishes you “Traveling Grace!!”
