Jan Winnan Bierwirth

Jan Winnan (Greene) Bierwirth passed away peacefully in her home on December 14, 2025. 

Jan was born on February 17, 1953 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Ralph Harrison and JoAnn Crippen Greene. She was a 1971 graduate of S.P Waltrip High School. Jan retired from the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church after 27 years of service.

Jan is survived by her daughter Kimberly Bierwirth, son Brent Bierwirth, daughter-in-law Leslie Bierwirth, grandchildren Rachael, Jake, Samantha and Julia - all of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William L. Bierwirth.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of M.D. Anderson and Bayou City Hospice for their compassionate care.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church (600 Pecore, Houston TX) with interment to follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories.

In lieu of flowers, it was Jan’s wish that donations be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church (smumc.org) or Shriners Children’s Hospital (shrinerschildrens.org).
