In Memory of
John Francis
-

John Francis, 43 was born in Houston, Texas on January 11, 1980, to Paul Jan Francis and Frances K. Francis. John graduated from Hastings High School in Houston, Texas, and was an avid soccer player, beginning as a child and his love for the sport grew through adulthood. John played goalkeeper for the Arsenal Soccer Team throughout his high school career.

Not long after graduation, he met the love of his life Kimberly Francis, at Wilcrest Baptist Church. They were married on December 21, 2002, and went on to have four beautiful children.

John began his career early as a “Glorified Plumber” (Level V Sprinkler Service Technician). Additionally, John found a passion for serving God and the community as a Volunteer Fire Fighter, with Stafford Fire Department. John and Kim not only met at Wilcrest but continued to serve there in the Awanas program for several years before they were called to serve at Sugar Grove Church of Christ. In March 2016, Kim and John had a calling to become foster parents. Their love for children and wanting to serve has given them the blessing of being able to foster eleven children.

John had a servant’s heart and a calling from God to meet people exactly where they were in their lives.

John had the ability to make everyone feel loved and accepted for who they were. John enjoyed anything about soccer, spreading the gospel, reggae music, and most of all, being with his loved ones.

John is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Francis; their four children, Chase and fiancé Nicole, Van, Adelynn, and Joryy. Sister, Shereece Francis.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Services are scheduled for Monday, September 25, 2023, at Sugar Grove Church of Christ.

Public visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service begins at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of the 2 organizations that were dear to John’s heart:

John always had a smile on his face and was always one to help anyone. He was a hero to many not just as a husband, dad, foster dad or firefighter. He was in many ways a Hero to our son and he and other firefighter friends coached, and encouraged him, while training him to become a volunteer firefighter. He was the type of person that was always in your corner. He was also, a foster dad to our niece and nephew for 5 months. He wasn’t just a neighbor, he was a friend. He walked with Jesus and it showed any time anyone ran across him. He had a sense of humor like no other and could make you laugh just by something silly he may say or a face he may make. He will be missed my so many.

Our prayers, love and thoughts are with the family!
Blessings,
Christy Wolfe
