In Memory of
Jonathan Eric Hood
-

Jonathan Eric Hood passed away at the home of his parents, August 20, 2011. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 18, 1971, the seventh child of fourteen children born to George Richard Hood and Naomi Louise Fisher Hood. Jonathan lived in Houston since 1972. He attended schools in the Aldine School District. Although he never married, he loved children and was a great son, brother, and friend.

Jonathan was very talented, teaching himself how to play the banjo and entertaining family with those skills. He had a talent for taking care of animals and had a special love for dogs. Jonathan was a sensitive man, often sacrificing himself to help others. He left memories with us that we will treasure forever.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Laura Eileen Hood. He is survived by parents George Richard Hood and Naomi Louise Fisher Hood; siblings: Linda and Ken Carney of Coldspring, Texas; Diane Smith of Logan, Utah; Scott and Marie Hood of Cypress, Texas; Sandra and David Capehart of Houston, Texas; Steven and Kristina Hood of Salt Lake City, Utah; Jennifer and Larry Scott of Cabot, Arkansas; David Hood of Houston, Texas; Andrew Hood of Cypress, Texas; Robert Hood of Houston, Texas; Michael Hood of Houston, Texas; Thomas and Emma-Lee Hood of Magna, Utah; and Sarah Hood of Houston, Texas.  He also leaves behind twenty-six nieces and nephews, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Words cannot adequately express how loved Jon was in this life or how deeply he will be missed by his family and friends.

As a little boy he was Pauls' best freind and love to go with us on family vacations. We Took him to Dallas to Six Flags and he disappeared with Paul, running from one ride to another.
He loved the roller coaster and anything that would get him wet. It was hot day!
What a fisherman he was , caught two fish at one time. Although he would not eat them because they had bones. Said he would only eat Long John Silver ! So he ate french fries and losts of ketchup,
When we took him skiing he came up the very first time he tried.
As a neighbor he was the best and we will miss him dearly.
Never be forgotton !

Mr and Mrs Hood I am Emma-Lee's Mother and I wanted you to know that although I have not lost son or daughter. I have lost Parents. And I lost very Close friend the way you did John, although is was not related it still hurt me very much because I had just spoken to him two days before and felt like it was my fault because I was not able to help him it took years for me to understand it was not my fault and that he was in a better place. I pray Heavenly Farther will Send the Comforter to you and your Family to Speak Peace and Truth to you all and that he will hold you in his loving arms and lift you up as you go through this terrbile time in your lives. May the wonderful spirit John had also be with you and help you to understand he really Love you all and he is looking forward to the day when you can all be together again. My Love and compasssion be with you all. Melanie Harding
