In Memory of
Jose Angel Gonzales
-

Jose Angel Gonzales, born December 4, 1953, went to be with our Heavenly Father on May 20, 2011 with his beloved family by his side. He leaves behind his wife Olivia, his daughters Angela Gonzales, Jeana McDowell and her husband Jake, his son Jose Gonzales Jr., his granddaughter Jasmine Gonzales, and his beloved dog, Mister Buddy. He is also survived by many other family members and dear friends.

The Gonzales Family expresses their deep gratitude for everyone's prayers, visits, phone calls, meals, and other expressions of love. To those who desire to give flowers or other gifts, and in accordance with Jose Gonzales' wishes and as a matter of practicality, the Family suggests that a donation may be made directly to his Sweetheart, Olivia Gonzales.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(John 3:16)
The soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body; yea, even a hair of the head shall not be lost; but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame.
(Alma 40:23)
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
(1 Corinthians 15:22)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what’s to be,
A resting place along the road
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay.
Our destination is a place
far greater than we know,
For some, the journey’s quicker,
For some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We’ll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord

I was very pleased to meet Joe years ago. He was a very nice and funny guy. Olivia would often refer to Joe as my boyfriend (LOL). Olivia and Joe was a great couple. Olivia trust God in times like these and know that he does not make any mistakes. We should be grateful for the good times. May God continue to bless you and I will keep you and your family in my daily prayers. Earth has no sorrow that God can not heal. Be Blessed, Love u Ernestine Marsh

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. This is one of the most difficult things we must face in this life. May it comfort you to know that others are deeply touched by your loss. But the bible assures us at Psalms 34:18 that God is near to those broken in heart and those crushed in spirit he saves. He also promises that we will be able to see our loved ones again. Jesus own words found at John 5:28,29 tells us there will be a resurrection. What a wonderful hope! He also says that soon on the earth there will be no more pain, suffering and especially death. Revelation 21:3-5 We anxiously await the day when we will no longer lose those we love. May these bible thoughts bring you comfort at this most difficult time.

MY FAVORITE BROTHER-IN-LAW. Rest in peace Joe. It is sad that you left us so young, but as Ollie told you, your work here is done. It is hard to remember you without thinking about some of your funny (perhaps corny?) jokes. I would not be surprised if you still have 'em laughing today. Know that you will be missed. ...Until we meet again.

To a man who always had a smile on his face and was happy. He was always thankful for everything he had and especially grateful for his wife, Olivia. He would always talk about her during his visits as our home teacher. We're grateful to have know you in the short period you were assigned as our home teacher and as my wife served with you in primary. She spoke highly of you as you were willing to serve wherever you were needed. It was a blessing for our family to have known you in this life. May God bless your family as they continue to press forward to be reunited once more.

Jose, you will certainly be missed in the Spring Ward. We appreciate your diligence in serving those in our Ward. You were always there with a smile on your face and a willingness to do the Lord's work no matter where He asked you to serve. I'm sure Heavenly Father has a definite calling for you or he would not have taken you from your loved ones so young. Olivia, I know this is a very difficult time for you but you can have the comfort of knowing that this is not the end of the companionship that you and Jose have enjoyed. Our prayers are certainly with you and your dear family, stay strong and just remember the good memories.

Brother Gonzalez,

I never saw you without a smile and the thought of you always brings a smile to my face. You had a way of speaking the truth in such an honest humble way. I loved hearing your thoughtful comments in Sunday School. Like the day we were talking about Sabbath Day observance and temptations. You shared how Coney Island's Sunday deals were a temptation on the way home from church. And said "But those hot dogs are so dog gone good on Sundays!" We quote that often at our house and think of your cheerful honesty and it strengthens us in facing our temptations. We know like Brother Gonzalez that we can drive on by those "dog gone good hot dogs." We love you and will miss your front row wisdom.

Love,
The Cherry Family

p.s. A special "I love you" from all the little people your sweet smile touched in the Primary. My children know and love you and were always excited if you were their "sub". Thank you for loving our little ones.

People knew Jose as a jokester but behind all of his jokes were humble bits of vulnerable wisdom. While he was on earth, I don't think he knew his worth. He was quick to expose his own flaws which made him so loveable. When I think of him now, I'm sure that he is wrapped in his Savior's arms and he finally knows just how precious and valuable he is. He will be missed in Primary. He had a love and acceptance for those children that will be difficult to replace. Those who have been left behind are so blessed that Jose knew how to say I love you. He loved Olivia and his family so much and was never ashamed to tell people how proud he was that they loved him back.

FAMILIA CAVAZOS GALVAN
