Marie Fisher Black Heinke, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 12th, 2023 at her home in Houston, Texas. She was born April 6, 1938 to Eleanora Marie Glaser and A.V. Fisher of Houston, Texas.
Marie attended Trinity Lutheran School, Marshall Junior High, and Jeff Davis High School. She was the oldest member of Trinity Lutheran Church at 85 years, also being confirmed and baptized there at a young age. She served as a youth counselor for many years alongside her first husband, taught Sunday School, and was very involved in the quilting and crochet ministries.
Before Marie was a stay-at-home mom, she worked for Shell Oil Company until the birth of her first child. She then went on to work as a receptionist for Dr. Wong DDS after the death of her first husband; she retired in 2006. Her first marriage lasted 33 years. After being single for 15 years, God brought her another wonderful husband, Delmas Heinke, who stayed by her side for 17 years until her passing.
Along with a passion for taking care of others, Marie enjoyed many of life’s simplicities. A few of her favorites include puzzles, gardening, Gin Rummy, Dominos (specifically 42), sunsets, the beach, the Heinke Ranch, bowling for St. Rose of Lima, and all her dogs she had throughout the years.
Marie was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Charles Black, Sr., parents, sister Marjorie Montavon, brother Wesley Worsham, and son Paul Heinke. She leaves behind her loving husband, Delmas Heinke, daughter Robin Black, son Robert Black, Jr. (wife Melisa), son Ricky Black (wife Sarah), son Wayne Heinke (wife Lori), brother Emile Fisher (wife Ardith), grandchildren Elaina Baden, Jordan Latrache, Robert Black III, Savana Black, Micah Black (wife Rebekah), Nathan Black (wife Audrey), and Michal Black, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
The viewing will be held on Friday August 25th from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church Downtown, 800 Houston Avenue, Houston, TX 77007. The funeral will be held on Saturday August 26th at Trinity Lutheran Church Downtown as well at 10:30 am.
A private interment will follow at 2:00 pm at the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell, TX. Memorials can be made in the form of flowers, and donations can be made to either the Trinity Youth Group or Music Department in her memory.
