Marti Peterson, 85, went to her heavenly home on September 6, 2020. Marti was born February 6, 1935 in Oglesby, Texas to Ernest and Ida Casey.
Marti moved to Houston as a young wife and mother but she always considered Oglesby to be “home.” She attended every Oglesby High School reunion she could and was very proud to be named “Coming Home Queen” one year. An honor for being the attendee who traveled the farthest to attend.
She felt very strongly about sharing her faith in Jesus Christ and led others to Christ through her time as a volunteer with the Jail Ministry of Houston’s First Baptist Church.
Marti formed an auto title service in 1966 and employed several family members in the business over the years. She enjoyed her work until retiring in 2010.
She is predeceased by her parents, Ernest (Pete) and Ida Pollard and her sister, Ernestine McKenzie. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Stafford and husband Mike, grandsons, Alan Hale and wife Melissa, Erik Hale and wife Tracy, great grandchildren, Reagan, Cooper, Macy, Kinley, Katelyn, and Cameron Hale, sister, Liz Isbill and nephew Robert Isbill.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church Oglesby with burial to follow at Post Oak cemetery in Oglesby, Texas.
