Mary Catherine Michalec

Mary Catherine Michalec, 80, born October 14, 1933 in Harris County, Texas entered into eternal rest November 9, 2013. She was born to Charles and Mary James and grew up in the Houston Heights area.

She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1951. She married Edwin Michalec in 1962 and shared 43 years as his loving wife. Mary spent her time as a homemaker and raising her three children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and baby daughter, Marcia Marie.

She is survived by brother, Charles R. James and wife Drena of Kingwood; her children, son Steven P. Michalec and wife Colleen; son Kevin C. Michalec and wife Donnell; daughter Karen C. Goolsbee and husband Kurt; 6 grandchildren – Cody, Kaylin, Colten, Joey, Sarah, and Jay. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mary touched many hearts and lives and will be greatly missed by all.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, November 13th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in northwest Houston. There will be a celebration of Mary’s life at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 14th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 19222 Tomball Pkwy followed by lunch for family and friends. Graveside service for will be at 2:30 Thursday at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery at 12800 Westheimer Rd.

In loving memory of Mary, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Floral deliveries should be made to Beresford Funeral Service (13501 Alief Clodine Rd, Houston, TX 77082) by 2PM Wednesday, or starting at 3PM on Wednesday to Prince of Peace (19222 Tomball Parkway, Houston, TX 77090).
