In Memory of
Mosope Grace Emmanuel
-

It is with a heavy heart, but a deep sense of gratitude to God for a life well-lived for His glory that we announce the passing away of our beloved and devoted wife, loving mother, awesome sister, precious daughter, cherished aunt and kind friend Mosopefoluwa Grace Emmanuel on Friday August 9, 2019 after a protracted illness. Mosopefoluwa passed away peacefully at the Katy, Memorial Hermann Hospital after a protracted illness at 11am on Friday August 09, with her husband of 13 years at her side.

She was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, southwestern Nigeria to Pastor (Engr.) Femi Adejugba and Mrs. Enitan Adejugba on March 05, 1981. She attended Ogun International Montessori School for her elementary education between 1986 and 1991 and Abeokuta Girls’ Grammar School for her secondary education between 1991 and 1997. She graduated from the prestigious (Nigeria Ivy League) Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State with a BA (combined honors) in Philosophy/Psychology in 2002 and won the Lady Yvonne Akinyele Prize for the best female graduating student and the University prize for overall second-best graduating student in the faculty of Arts (2002 set).

She met her husband, Dr. Olusanmi ‘Tunde Emmanuel during her National Youth Service Corps posting in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State in February 2004 and the two got married in September 2006. They are blessed with three wonderful children – Tolu, Tomi and Tobi. Due to her love of learning, she proceeded to the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK in 2009 to study for M.H.R. degree with a major in Human Resources Management and Services and graduated with an almost perfect GPA in 2011, just months after the birth of her second child.

Mosope was a dedicated Christian whose faith in her Lord and Savior never wavered until her final breath. She loved her husband and treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She was a great blessing to her family and in-laws and had a very warm personality that made people around her feel most welcomed and loved. She was never seen with a frown and always managed a smile no matter what difficulties she may personally be going through.

Prior to moving to the USA in 2009, Mosope worked for Industrial Development Communications Ltd and Zenith Bank in Lagos, Nigeria. Since graduating from the University of Oklahoma, Mosope has worked for American Trucking Business, Denver Human Services, DNV GL and EnTouch Systems Incorporated. She co-founded Acetop Energy LLC, Houston, Texas and Acetop Energy Associates Ltd, Lagos, Nigeria - an energy consulting, training, recruitment and procurement company, with her husband, business partner and best friend of 16years in October 2016 and was the company’s V.P., Human Resources and Administration until her transition to glory.

Mosope's life was a quiet bundle of testimonies of God's grace, mercies and love. She always found ways to invite others to come to Christ, so they can experience this matchless outpouring of love by the Father of Lights. And up till her final breadth, her testimony continued to bring someone to Christ as a Caucasian male nurse in the emergency room with her accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, because Mosope had her vitals miraculously restored for another 24hours, after the doctors already concluded she had passed in the morning of Thursday, August 08, 2019.

Like her name, Mosopefoluwa “I give thanks to the Lord” in Yoruba, she was always thankful and joyous. She is being sorely missed by her parents, husband, children, siblings, in-laws, friends and Church family. But we take solace in knowing that she is now resting in the bosom of her Lord and Savior and we will see her again on resurrection morning when the dead in Christ shall rise to life again.

Adieu Mosope Grace Emmanuel. You will forever be in our hearts!

A "Song Service" will be held on Friday evening, August 16, 2019 at 7pm at the Life Church - Katy, A Foursquare Church (26189 Westheimer Parkway, Katy, TX 77494).

A funeral service will also be at Life Church - Katy, A Foursquare Church on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 8:30am.  The graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories in Houston, Texas.

To help keep Mosope’s legacy alive, and in lieu of flowers and wreaths, the Emmanuel family requests that friends and family consider donating to missions: https://lifechurchkaty.churchcenter.com/giving/to/missions-fund

I knew you briefly. When your husband, who i'm familiar with, introduced you to the church ( Foursquare Church, Idimu), and also when i attended your wedding. Saw you few times, but she had the kindest eyes. A sweet Lady. Rest in Peace. One with God.

The news of your death came as a rude shock that i am yet to recover from. I pray God consoles your family. Rest on Sope

Hmmmm, I woke up on Tuesday to the rude shock of your passing, without crying, my eyes overflowed with tears. My friend, my sister of almost thirty years has been confirmed dead by her dear husband. Where can I start to talk about Sope? We grew up together, went to same secondary school and university. She was one of the few that called me Funlola, your kind is sure rare, I can never forget your gentle face, real smile and calm demeanor. I will miss you sorely, I remember your last visit to my home and our last communication in April, I will treasure those forever because I can't hug you one more time. I rejoice that you are at your Lord's feet, where there's no sorrow or pain, sleep on my beloved friend and sister. I feel for your husband and girls, their angel is gone, God will comfort your parents, siblings and all who knew you. Sun re o Sope, ore mi tooto.

Dear Sope,
I remember you from OAU days as a peace loving person who loved the Lord. You had a calm demeanour every single time and I remember you that way.
I am sad that you have gone to rest so soon but God knows why and I pray He gives your husband, children and everyone dear to you the grace to go through this huge loss.

In your embrace Lord, we are safe
In the knowledge of your grace
Knowing your heart oh Lord
Living each day to please you
Is the greatest, the greatest life to live.

Thank you Lord
For life, every day in your grace
Thank you Lord
For your Breath
It is an honour to live for you.

And when night comes, we see your face
Oh your beauty we then beholda
Come my child to your rest
It is the greatest, the greatest words, to hear

Thank you Lord
For life, everyday in your grace
Thank you lord
For your breath
It is an honour to live for you

It is an honor to live and die in you.

Dearest Aunt Sope,
Your demise came as a shock to me because I thought you recovered well some months back. How could this ever be.
I cried, i cried but also gave thanks to God for the gift of salvation you had before you left us. Am assured you are in a better place now. God knows all things and we can't question Him.

Your face, so calm and gentle
Your voice, sweet and subtle
Your heart, speaks so perfectly of a believer in Christ.

Isaiah 57:2
Those who walk uprightly enter into peace, they find rest as they lie in death.

Though we didn't get to meet physically, speaking with her on the phone, seeing her pictures, her words and gifts to me here in Nigeria made me see through to her heart, she was so generous and loving. My brother in-law had the best wife in the world.

I pray the good Lord who knows all things and who is our comforter comfort the family and strengthen their hearts.
The bible says in all things, we should give thanks. My comfort is that she was a genuine Christian, had the fear of God and lived her life serving God and being a tool in His hands.

Psalms 34:18
The Lord is close to the heartbroken and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Aunty Sope,
Though you have moved on to greater glory
Your forever remain in my heart.
You live on and have joined the cloud of witnesses over there watching over your family until the final day when we will meet again.

I sincerely miss you
Rest well Ma.

Words fail me! shocking is an understatement.

I met Sope during our service year in Uyo. She was a very gentle loving soul. a lover of God... we never really got to see or talk after our service year. I just saw a post on Facebook, i sincerely thought it would be your birthday or some good news... i was shell shocked to read your about your demise...

It is difficult writing this... One thing i sure do know is that you have gone to be with the lord. heaven has received one of its own. God comfort the hearts of your husband, children, your parents and the entire body of Christ.

till we meet again on the resurrection morning.
