Mozelle Parks Williams, our beloved “Nonnie” went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 24, 2008. She joined her husband of 62 years, John Sidney Williams, who preceded her in death by only two months and prepared her way.
Mozelle was born in Eldorado, Texas to Ward and Hazel Parks. She spent her life lovingly nurturing, raising, and caring for her family. She accompanied her husband on many moves as his career unfolded. They moved to Houston where he eventually took early retirement. They have lived in the Houston/Katy area for over 35 years. Through those years, Mozelle did volunteer work including many years of volunteering at Katyville Retirement Center.
Mozelle was devoted to her family and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters Marjorie Parks Alexander, Maurine Parks Rust, and Lois Parks Van Vleet and 1 brother, W.C. Parks. Left to celebrate her life and continue her and her husband’s legacy are daughters: Jacquelyn McDonald (husband, George) and Avan Blair both of Houston; her cherished grandchildren: Jared Lord, Lacie Johnson (husband, Charlie), Cody Blair and Matt McDonald; one sister, Fern Humphrey of Austin, Texas; many beloved nieces and nephews. Additionally she is survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha Dell Thornton and Stuart Williams and her best friend since elementary school, Janice Ratliff all of San Angelo, Texas.
The family would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to Nkeche Ikwuemesi our parents’ caregiver who brought great JOY and devotion to the last year of their lives.
