The family of Patrick “Pat” James McDuff, of Houston, is deeply saddened to announce his passing on February 7, 2026. Pat was born on February 18, 1955, to Lee and Shirley McDuff in Houston, Texas. Pat is predeceased by his beloved wife, Carolyn McDuff, brother-in-law, Bill Levegood, and his parents, Lee and Shirley McDuff.
Pat worked throughout his life and had a great career with Houston, Lighting and Power (Centerpoint Energy). He began as a lineman but quickly rose to a management position with his advanced computer skills and tireless work ethic. Pat enjoyed many years working alongside people that shared his same vision of helping others.
Pat was known as a storyteller. With his rich baritone voice, incredible memory and hearty laugh, he was a favorite in many gatherings with stories of friends and family long forgotten. Among his six siblings, it was often remarked that he was their mother’s favorite, a relationship that he cherished deeply and was truly special.
Though quiet, Pat had a huge heart and would lend a hand to help others without reservation. He was an incredible listener and truly wanted to make others feel valued. Pat never had an unkind word to say and loved gathering with others around a table of great food. Food was a passion for Pat, and he thoroughly enjoyed trying new foods and restaurants. Music was another passion of Pat’s. He would spend many an afternoon creating, listening and sharing musical favorites with friends and family.
He loved completely and cherished his wife, Carolyn, long after her death. Pat was a calm, compassionate, loving son, husband and brother.
Pat is survived by siblings Gary McDuff (Mary Ann), Michael McDuff, Molly Levegood, Timothy McDuff (Elizabeth), Mary Lee House (Del) and Laura Karsten (Daniel) and many nieces and nephews.
His love, devotion and kindness will be a treasured source of comfort to those left behind.
