Amos Junior Barlow, Jay as he was known by friends and family. Passed quietly from this life November 17, 2018 at Houston Methodist Hospital in Katy. Losing his battle with colon cancer.
Jay was born May 28, 1944 in Denver, IL, The son of Amos Eugene and Norma Jean (Childers) Barlow. Jay graduated from Serna High School, Class of 1964. following his graduation, Jay service in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War. After the war, Jay returned to Plano, where he worked for Pratt, Inc for 43 years in the shipping and receiving department.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, surviving is his beloved wife of 9 years, Rosemary Cantrell Barlow, two sisters, Pat Wirth and husband Gary of Belvidere, IL, Judy Bedford and husband Barry of Plano, IL, stepsons, Charles Jeffcoat and wife Carrie of Cold Springs, TX, Lawrence Jeffcoat and wife Shannon of Watson, LA, his nieces, Melissa Cassidy and husband Mike of Belvidere, IL, Jamie Bedford of Springfield, IL, Brianne Hartman and husband Kevin of Paris, IL, his nephews, Mike Wirth of Chicago, IL, and Ryan Bedford and wife Melissa of Plano, IL, His uncle Dean Barlow of Lovington, IL, and his aunt Vivian (Peg) Foster of Dundas, IL, and a host of beloved great niece, great nephews, family and friends.
A “Celebration of Life” service will be held December 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM, at Cypress Creek Baptist Church, Cypress, TX.
