In Memory of
Anna Fulbright Holland
-

Anna Ruth Nigh Boucher-Fulbright Holland, 83, departed this life on Sunday, February 14, 2016, peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family. She was born September 18, 1932, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of late Samuel and Minnie Nigh. She was the second born of 5 siblings.

Anna was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma where her father worked for Sun Oil Company foreman for many years. She attended Daniel Webster High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and then went on to Oklahoma Baptist University, where she played clarinet in the band. She later attended University of Houston and received her Texas Real Estate Brokers License in 1967. She had since that time been a successful real estate broker.

Anna sang in the choir at Houston’s First Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was in several Christmas Pageants, which she enjoyed very much. We remember her love for these Christmas pageants as we attended them with her each year. If we weren’t watching her sing in the choir, she would be sitting right beside us singing along, anyway. Anna also loved to teach Sunday school, and she did so for many years. Among many of her pleasures, besides her family, she enjoyed playing the piano and teaching others how to play.

Anna met Joe Holland in elementary school, who she later married on April 5, 2001. Who knew they would find each other after all those years. It was true love and will live on until they meet again.

She will be greatly missed by her family, whom she absolutely loved, adored and cherished with all of her heart. She always made sure to keep up with them and talk to them on a regular basis. She could give you kisses like no other women I know and her smile would just light up a room. She was the center of her family’s life and kept us all together as one unit! Those who survive her are: her husband, Joe Holland, her son, Scott Allen Boucher, her daughter-in-law, Mary Boucher, her grandchildren, Leah, Wayne, Kelly, Ryan, Aaron, Brandon, her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Nicolai, Porter, Joey, Jacob, Danielle, George, Abigail, Skylar, Chloe, Bailee, Jada, Harley and many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Minnie, her sisters, Mary Beth, Velma Lou, Donna Belle, her brother, Jack Fowler, her daughter, Vicki Lee, her son, Stephen Glenn, her daughter-in-law, Eve Marie Claire "Lechner" Boucher, her grandson, Dale, and her granddaughter, Sherry.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Houston’s First Baptist Church at 10:30am with a reception immediately following.

Her ashes will be laid to rest at the Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 2:30 PM.

Anna played a wonderful role in my young years and into adulthood. She was always encouraging and looked for the kindest way to speak a message. I love her and I learned very much from her. She was devoted to maintaining a Christian witness, a loving family and successful business endeavors. Thank you Anna for all of the love you shared with me.
