Barbara Ray Butterfield, 78, passed away on May 27, 2026, in Tomball, Texas.
Barbara was born on March 16, 1947, in Oakland, California, to Winifred Virginia Brosi and Donald Leroy Van Dusen. She graduated from Miramonte High School in Orinda, California, in 1964. She married classmate, Robert W. Butterfield, in 1970 and they were together for fifty-six years, raising two boys, Matt, 54, and Will, 51. They have four grandchildren, Dylan, Mia, Brooks, and Augie. Because her husband was transferred often, she had many Administrative Assistant jobs, including Exxon-Mobil for fifteen years.
They were a true love story. She enjoyed her grandchildren most of all. She decorated their many homes and volunteered at her kid's schools. She enjoyed traveling and took many trips to Europe with her husband. She was an excellent cook and entertained often. She supported many charities and was generous with her time. They were members of the Houston Northwest Church.
A Celebration of Life will be led by Pastor Ben Pritchett on July 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Houston Northwest Church (19911 State Highway 249 at Cypresswood). The celebration will be held in the Student Building - North, behind the church.
