Charles Peter Worchesik, 74, passed away on August 13th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 17th, 1950, in Houston, Texas to Eva Lillian Dorcz and Joe Walter Worchesik. He was the middle child of three with an older brother (Joe Lee) and younger sister (Jo Ann).
Charles graduated from Reagan High School in Houston. He worked as a machinist for a number of years at Cameron Iron Works and then began working at the City of Houston where he ultimately retired from.
Charles married his high school sweetheart Catherine Marie Kazmir on June 20th, 1970. They purchased their home in Houston, on Cresline St. the following year. This would be the home they would spend their lives in and raise their son Brian. Cathy passed away in 1997. Charles married his second wife Mary Jannelle Westbrook on August 25th, 2007.
Charles was a devout Catholic, who was a member of St.
Charles Borromeo Church in Houston. He was very active in the Men’s Club and many church groups. His passion was always bingo. He spent many years playing and calling bingo. He took his son and grandchildren hundreds of times to play. Charles had hundreds of friends throughout his life who shared his passion, and he was always willing to help others with a ride back and forth to enjoy a night out playing bingo.
His biggest passion though, was his family. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. He always bragged about every accomplishment, no matter how small. Whenever his son or grandchildren met a friend of his, they quickly realized how much that person already knew about them.
Charles touched so many lives throughout the years. He was a “dad” to many of his son’s friends in the tight knit northside neighborhood. He was the type of man who seemed to know someone everywhere he went.
Charles is survived by his son, Brian Worchesik; his 2 grandchildren Sheyanne Autumn Worchesik and Brodie Reagan Worchesik; his 6 great grandchildren Caden, Courtney, Elizabeth, Ethan, Christopher Jr., and Lillianna; and numerous extended family.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his older brother, his younger sister, and both his wives.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10am and the funeral will begin at 11am.
