In Memory of
DeLinda Craven
-

DeLINDA FRAZIER CRAVEN was born to Paul & Lucile Frazier in Houston, Texas on July 26, 1941, and passed away on Monday, November 19th. She spent her childhood in Garden Oaks and later moved to Jersey Village, where she went on to become a National Merit Scholar while attending CyFair High. DeLinda studied at Rice University on a full scholastic scholarship. She placed her college career on hold to raise her 4 children, then resumed at University of Houston graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BA in English. Her passions in life were theater and recovery work, which she combined in creating the RIC center in the Heights. Her friends in recovery were her second family and she loved them dearly. She was also an active member of Grace UMC and proud grandmother to 13. In 2004 she had the pleasure of meeting Bob Furmaga, who became her life partner and together they set out to see the world. It was during these times that she found her greatest joy. He has been her steadfast caregiver and her children are forever grateful to him. In addition to Bob, DeLinda is survived by her 4 children: Kim Dreger & husband Jeff, Marshall Craven & wife Amy, Tamara Ashy & husband Jason and Holly Raymond & husband Rob; her brother Paul Frazier and wife Dianne; her aunt Lillian Cannon; and grandchildren: Lonnie, Amanda, Allison, Sydney, Lyndsay, Whitney, Bailey, Mallory, Chelsea, Anna, Alaina, Juliana & Spencer. She will be missed by many, but we rejoice that she is now in the loving arms of our Lord. The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 21st of November @ Grace UMC, 1245 Heights Blvd, with Sister Sara Owen-Gemoets officiating. Interment to follow at Hollywood Cemetery and reception at her former home in Timbergrove. Family requests any donations to be sent to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center @ 713-792-3450. Delinda volunteered to play for our 7:00 a.m. worship for our homeless community when I was the priest at Lord of the Streets Episcopal Church in midtown Houston. She played faithfully for several years every 6 weeks until her health no longer allowed her to do so. She also played for special services in our chapel on holidays when no one else could play. Delinda's generosity was quite a blessing to us.
