Dorothy Jean Czach Kerr

Dorothy Jean Kerr, aged 87 died peacefully on April 27, 2013 at the Vitas Hospice Care Center in Houston, Texas, after a brief struggle with cancer. Dorothy was born July 2, 1925, at Saint Patrick’s Sanatorium in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the daughter of George and Amanda Clooney.

She is preceded in death by husband Paul Karl Czach Sr., with whom she had three sons; after which she was united in marriage with Thomas Wilshaw Kerr.

In High School, Dorothy was a Kiltie at Lake Charles High School. After serving in a civilian capacity with the US military, she had a long professional career with various large companies, including The Houston Chronicle, Sears, and Southwest Memorial Hospital, in personnel management, and insurance.

She had a great sense of humor and had a great laugh, and loved her trips to Las Vegas.

She is survived by her sons, Paul Jr, Larry, and John and their families.

There will be a celebration of her life at Beresford Funeral Services 13501 Alief Clodine Rd., May 2, 2013 at 10:30AM until Noon. There will be a private graveside service for immediate family members at the Houston National Cemetery.

The family requests donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

I am deeply sadden by the passing of Dot. We grew up side by side& we were mostly brothers & sisters than cousins. Dorethy, Betty, Elaine, Nan & Ernest were their during the best of our young lives.I know she will rest in peace.
