Jean Fambrough Moritz, 81, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
A graveside service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery at 1 o'clock on Monday, February 21.
Born to Dorothy and James Fambrough in Chicago in 1940, the family moved back to Houston
when she was very young. Jean graduated from Lamar High School in 1958 and then the
University of Texas in 1961, earning a degree in mathematics as a Delta Zeta. Retiring from
Chevron meant more time to spend on her passions: bridge, family history, and most of all, her
grandchildren. From “Gam Camp” finishing school for two rowdy boys, to trips to Astroworld and
Space Center Houston, she made her love for her family felt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her two children, Jim and Scott Moritz.
She is survived by her sister: Ann Chapman (Keith Ritter), her grandsons: Chris (Alexandra Ess) and Michael Moritz, her daughter-in-law: Khristi Moritz, her nephews: Ryan (Emily) and Jason Harkey and their families, and her niece: Julie Jackson (Brant) and her family.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jean's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Eagle's Trace Treasure Chest, or the charity of your choice.
